Package treats 1,000 gallons. Each bale treats 500 gallons.
Barley Straw Bales clean ponds by reducing particles and odors. To find you pond’s volume, use the formula: Length x Width x Depth (in feet) and multiply that total by 7.5. Your pond’s volume is needed to determine the amount of bales required to treat the pond. The mini bales have cork centers to keep the bales afloat. Never allow the bales to sink to the bottom. If your bales do sink, remove them from the pond and let them dry for 24 hours. Allow one month for the mini bale to become effective, and replace the bale after six months. After five months, place a new bale next to the old one and remove the old bale in the sixth month. For best results, treat your pond with mini bales throughout the year.
